ALLIANCE FOR THE HIGH SEAS comprises more than 37 NGOs, including the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). It is a coalition of international organizations and groups dedicated to creating a common voice for conserving the high seas. It represents the ocean area that covers waters more than 200 nautical miles from the coast and is currently regulated by different agreements and organizations. For more than a decade, she has worked with the United Nations to create a treaty to protect the environment of the high seas, scheduled for 2020.
